How to: Remove the footnote separator.
Solution:
Place the document in Normal view and select 'Footnotes...' option from the 'View' menu. Select the separator option from the drop-down list box. Delete the separator.
1) Select the 'View' menu and select 'Normal'.
2) Select the 'View' menu again and select 'Footnotes'. (The check box notes will display in a window.)
3) Select 'Footnote Separator' from the drop-down list box. (The separator will display in the check box note window.)

4) Select the characters or line displayed.
5) Press DELETE.
6) Do one of the following:
a) Click 'Close' to close the check box note window.
b) Type a different separator and close the window.
